Advocacy
SMEs aspire to deliver more homes. The government has a target of 1.5 million homes delivered. SMEs only deliver 8% of new homes. In the past, they delivered 40% of new homes. SMEs would make a meaningful contribution to this if the challenges they face were tackled.
TrustedLand was set up to promote SMEs in Property Development. It is an obvious next step for TrustedLand to help its collective network. This can be either by lobbying directly or facilitating communication with the relevant people. TrustedLand could also form strategic alliances with other lobbying bodies.
TrustedLand represents a broad spectrum of the property development industry. This allows it to collectively gather a diverse range of specialist knowledge relevant to the challenges of the day. By asking its network and facilitating discussions, it is able to advocate on their behalf. Careful consideration is to be given to how this is best resourced and which issues prioritised.
An initial survey to the TrustedLand network via various channels gained more data. The survey provided insights on what to lobby for. It also identified who to lobby to and highlighted the issues SMEs have.
The TrustedLand Taskforce has formed to act on the findings of the survey with more announcements to follow. There is a collective feeling that now is the right time to act. Please find the survey below.
