Sneak peek into Local Authorities’ latest practices in times of Covid-19 Lockdown

The UK is nearing two months into lockdown and real estate businesses across the country have had to adjust. But how have local authorities fared during this difficult time? On Wednesday 20th May between 11.15am – 12.30pm ECF, in association with TrustedLand and Rolfe Judd Planning, will be joined by Cllr Clare Coghill, the Leader of Waltham Forest Council, to discuss her administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and exactly how they have kept the wheels of decision making turning.

The session will also explore which pandemic practices are likely to remain for the long-term. Are virtual planning committees here to stay? Will meetings with planning officers continue to take place on Zoom and MS Teams? Can remote site visits replace the need to physically visit a site? Those are some of the many questions that will be covered in an interactive Q&A session. Cllr Coghill will also outline why Waltham Forest remains an attractive Borough to invest in for developers large and small and update on the progress of the Waltham Forest Local Plan.

Hosted on Remo, the event will also provide opportunities for virtual networking before and after the main event, with a host of interesting developers and service providers invited to attend. We hope you can join us on 20th May.

About Cllr Clare Coghill

Cllr Clare Coghill has been the Leader of Waltham Forest Council since May 2017, the first woman to hold the position in the borough’s history. She was first elected to the Council in 2010 and since then has been at the forefront of Waltham Forest’s economic growth and town centre regeneration. Since becoming Leader of the Council, Clare’s priority has been to make sure residents enjoy a great quality of life and that the borough is an attractive place to live, including for those on lower incomes. During this time, Waltham Forest has gained a reputation for one of being one of the most pro-development boroughs in London. Under Clare’s leadership, Waltham Forest became the first winner of the London Borough of Culture in 2019.
