The proposed uplift to “Approved Documents Part L and Part F” in 2020, and the more demanding “Future Homes Standard” proposed for 2025 all converge towards the need to improve the energy efficiency of new homes immediately, and means home builders and the wider supply chain need to be working to higher standards.
Alongside the above important steps, we believe that adopting fabric-first principles such as Passivhaus, can provide a more immediate response to climate change. In this article, we provide a summary of the current and planned legislative context which may inform current and future projects.
