InsideOut / Civil Approach to Sustainability

Balancing earthworks and minimising cut and fill on site are important considerations on any project due to the high carbon footprint and significant cost of hauling material to and from a site. Similarly, good surface and foul water management offers significant opportunities in terms of potential economic benefits, reduced impact on sewer infrastructure and increased biodiversity. We have worked very closely with the civil engineers appointed on our recent projects to realise these ambitions across a number of sites, and this Think Piece by Considine’s Roland Cooper and Mike Frazer summarises how they applied these principles on our Passivhaus scheme at Fairbrook Grove
